About ESN Azerbaijan
The Erasmus Student Network Azerbaijan, commonly known as ESN Azerbaijan, is a non-profit organization and the national branch of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), which is the largest volunteer student organization in Europe, recognized and supported by the European Commission. ESN Azerbaijan serves as the national representative of this network, connecting local initiatives with the global ESN community.
Overview
ESN Azerbaijan comprises dedicated young volunteers and strives to create a more mobile and flexible educational environment. We support and develop student exchanges at different levels, providing guidance and practical assistance to international participants in mobility programs across Azerbaijan. Currently, our activities are centered around our local sections and partner universities, primarily based in Baku.
The organization develops recreational, cultural, social, and civic activities under six specific areas of focus: Culture, Education & Youth, Health & Well-being, Environmental Sustainability, Skills & Employability, and Social Inclusion. These activities are designed to align with the global strategy of the Erasmus Student Network while addressing the specific needs and the internationalization process of the Azerbaijani student community.
The purpose of these activities is to facilitate the integration of international students into local Azerbaijani communities, providing support whenever needed to ensure the best possible mobility experience. At the same time, ESN Azerbaijan provides an intercultural experience for those who cannot access a period abroad ("internationalization at home") and plays a key role in the reintegration of Azerbaijani students returning from their mobility period.
